So there are two things I can think of at the moment.

1) Go to 'Plug-Ins > Material > Material Manager' select Primary Texture from the drop down and make sure each component has a texture file associated with it. Adding a texture file at this level will not fix the problem, but it will give you and idea which component needs attention.

2) Go to 'Plug-Ins > Material > Fill Untextured'. You must have a default texture loaded to use this (a cropped texture I hope). This will flood fill all the components that are untextured. Its a brute force way to fix the problem and it usually causes more work than its worth (I like option 1 best).

Is it possible the problem exists because this model was created in SU and imported into 3DC?

Absolutely. SU may create faces you do not want or even know about.

Ok, thank you. I will have to re-access and probably start over.

Is there anyway to make the work area larger? As in the checker board area.

Tools > Options > Editing.

You really should explore 3DC. Don't worry about breaking models and the like, just have at it and see what happens. :D

Well, I finally had success getting a building I made textured and into the game. Not too sure if I want to release it or not just yet for I am not 100% happy with the results. But I wanted to thank those that helped me along the way. !*salute*!

If you are not happy with the model, sleep on it. I have several models I am sitting on while I learn new techniques (headlights being a prime example for me).

Don't let anyone rush you. This supposed to be fun.

I should finally get round to having a crack at my model tonight, I'm finally feeling a lot better now, It's not nice injuring your unmentionables and not having a decent story to say how they got injured..... Sorry if too much info.

I need to learn more complex models as well with the likes of archways and curves, even random bits of ruined building would be good to learn but with me I fear it might take some time :)
