Blender: Animation N00b

Has anyone here successfully exported a skeletal mesh - i.e. a moving human - from Blender to TrainSimulator? I have no problem with de-boned animations, such as doors, levers, and switches. But this bone thing has me befuddled. When I try to animate my hooman, it works fine in Blender. But when I export it to TS, one of three things happens:

1.) It grows to enormous proportions.
2.) It moves slightly then nevermore.
3.) It explodes.

Exploding is particularly bad.
