How to get exact sizes in google sketchup

Unread postby DrewG » Tue Aug 26, 2014 4:57 pm

I'm trying to make my own assets for a route and I'm using sketchup. I've built what I want but looking at the dimensions is is way to big. I've used the scale tool to change its size but it's to hard to get it right without fractions. I want the sign (in this case a Via Rail sign) to exactly 16 feet tall but when I change it I can never get it to exactly 16 feet tall. Does anyone know how to change an objects size to exactly 16 feet without the fractions?

This takes a little practice... but works. You may have to go several decimal points in the scale box.

Also, make sure you have the file set to meters as the units. If you have already built the model, simply make a new blank file using the meters template, then copy and paste your model from your old file into the new one. It will be scaled perfectly!
They exist everywhere. You may not see them, but they're there. Awww yeeeaaaahhhh, 20% Cooler! /)
