I hate to say but it probably isn't possible though, doesn't hurt to try but it's probably always trying to no effect.

He must be modeling a miniature golf course, involving tiny trains...

mdurdan wrote:Its possible for sure we just need to put the collision physics from the trains on to a scenery item !!*ok*!!

or, make a train engine/car that looks like a truck (etc), then make invisible track (is it possible?)then voila, train hit train/car, and collision!

If you find a way to do it, do it sparingly because collision detection bears a hefty performance price, which is why game makers use all kinds of tricks to reduce it to a minimum.

For example, FPS games will oftem create an invisible collider object that is a very simplified version of the ground, and can be used for limiting where the player may go.
For RW, never use the object's geometry for collision geometry. Use very simple shapes like cubes. Never make an object a collider if it doesn't need to be.

I have to admit, if this could be added to something like those rare truck vs train collisions on Cajon Pass, near Devore for instance, it could be hilarious. As long as it doesn't derail your train. Maybe I shouldn't say that, some of those near misses give me conniptions, even though it's just a sim... !**duh*!!
Another thing that could be fun, is whacking a snow covered branch in winter and seeing a cloud of snow flying.

In that case you'd be better to use signals and lua code.

When a train comes to the end of a section of track and runs into the buffer the train will stop as it has detected a collision. What makes it do that? The track section or the locomotive or both? There might be something there that can be copied and modified to your needs for this project.

I seem to remember sometime somewhere bumping into a buffer (with a bang) without derailing.............

IIRC, the buffer at the end of a track is put there as a child object of the track. Is that what gives it "bump-ability"? If you manually place the same static buffer on the track, you can drive through it.
