Do these truck frames look a bit heavy and thick, like taken from an Athearn model?

The radiator area looks better propotioned now compared to the early 3D sample.

Looking forward to the SD45, it is a classic.

Since it was to early to read into the subject, does RSC have a tenative date set on its release? This will really open the door to allot of repaints.

Does the lettering on the nose look wrong to anyone else?

I was really hoping for a high short hood variation. That will loose N&W and many Southern fans,if there is none. I no longer do Facebook,so I don't know if its listed there. Otherwise,I think it looks great. As far as ditch lights go,I am modeling the 70's,and have no need for them. It seems that Sherman Hill may be set in that era.

Maybe a Birdy can suggest high hoods. ;)

Is that horn mount prototypical?

Well,I fired off an upbeat email to RSC,encouraging them to do some variations on the upcoming loco. I am guessing the odd horn bracket must have been specific to some UP engines. They could sell many more of these if there is a wider variety to fit other roads. I encourage anyone else who agrees to write them, also.

Please, feel free to add your comments and opinions here and I will take note. I like to made changes in the model according to the railroad and not just repaint it. The horns need to be replaced, for the moment I only moved to the cab top (in early screens you can see it in the middle of the long hood).

I should have thought that it was your model. I would like to see locomotive packs released in the style of the GP-9 pack, with a variety of variations,so there is a good chance that nearly any railroad can have a correct,or at least very close mesh to re-paint. To clarify,I would like a high short hood, with a bracket mounted bell on the short hood's nose, and horns on the cab roof. But if just the high short hood makes it into the sim,I would be happy. Thanks for the consideration.

well my picks will be the following:

Great Northern (400 if possible because it is the first production sd45 sold and it also has a unique paint job)
Burlington Northern
Wisconson Central
Montana Rail Link
