I'm kind of surprised that nobody else made this thread yet, so I'm making it. For those of you who don't know, RSC just released a bunch of pictures of their upcoming GG1 add-on. Here are some of them:

There are lots more pics on their Facebook page.

Yeah, it looks nice, and I'd kind of like to have it, but it's not worth getting the NEC to run it.

It looks like there may be some period-appropriate rolling stock that comes with it.

I saw a GG1 in the railroad museum in Strasburg PA - evidently the same one that someone from RS went to see. It was surprising how little room there was inside of the cab of those things.

Those are the passenger cars that come with HSC.

Yes, a pity they didn't model some of those distinctive tuscan red streamlined cars from say the Broadway Limited with their gold stiping and dark window panels.

Now we just have another duplicate engine. I'll probably still get it coming weekend with my 50% off voucher.

Come on, RSC, bring us an ALCO PA (belching lots of black smoke on revving up) , F-M Trainmaster, SD45, GE U-Boat (with fire coming out of the exhaust, just like in Trainz) or some other US classic.

Oovee are doing a UBoat.

I'm attempting the belching smoke thing, but I am terrible at emitters :p

I certainly did, all the way from rainy Chatham. The museum was excellent. I captured a lot more than just the beautiful GG1 as well ;)

Here's the question though - how the heck do you know what the thing is supposed to sound like?

BLLW may be doing something about that soon though. The 1949 Broadway Limited RPO is already available. (here: http://www.bllw.net/)

Cheers,
Michael

MTH has the GG1 sound down to a tee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEHKpCNp9Nw

But if you want the real thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BgPOhMec7k

The RRoPA also had some top quality sound recordings also I bet. !!*ok*!!

Well, I am not so sure about those BLW PRR passenger cars. They look too much like MSTS conversions to me. Just like G-Trax's and the Britkits.

Given the higher level of detail possible with TS12 and today's average computer CPU/GPU power, I think only custom designed models will please most of us.

Anybody here has them and is able to post some screenshots?

Looking great, just could use a PC "bankrupt black", CR patchout, CR blue, Amtrak.

We've had a GG1 for a long time here already, with all those reskins. I still don't know why RSC decided to model another GG1, there are so many other locomotives they could make. !*don-know!*
