Is there a WM caboose on some side track? There were quite a few color schemes for this. A few with Chessie System yellow. What rendition would be date appropriate for this loco? http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsList ... M930&id=WM

Cabooses (and other equipment) in both original fireball and "speed lettering" WM schemes will be appropriate for use with the H-9. Western Maryland first began using the "speed lettering" livery in 1952 and it was widely adopted by 1954 (the year WM retired steam). The High Iron Simulations Western Maryland Retro Pack (related equipment in screenshot below) and the DTM BL2 DLC both include various equipment to complement the H9.

Bought!

Initial remarks:
very nice modeling, texturing top too.
headlight proper incandescent colour, class lights work, sliding the cab windows fully open brings out the arm rest and wind deflector
no headlight glass?
smokestack doesn't puff on the exhaust beats?
coal smoke all black, too black and 'ballooning' instead of drifting while the engine is still standing.
in my QD consist, the tender has a different road number from the locomotive?

Having played a lot of late with the excellent Bossman Games, Caledonian and Victory Works steam locomotives enhanced by Steam Sounds Supreme, I know there is more possible with the particle effects, i.e. sparks when slipping, ejector leaking steam and water, compressor exhaust
Given Caledonian was involved, hopefully this excellent locomotive will get an update

I have updated the "1" cabview.bin to have a head out view in sequence, with the gauges visible and working, in the "2" head out view the gauges are 'blind' which makes driving without HUD a bit easier

Well recommended first efforts by Machine Rail of new North American steam locomotive. !!*ok*!!

Schnauz's review is out:
PS: how to embed YT video? I believe it once worked.

Locobase details: https://www.steamlocomotive.com/locobas ... ad=wm#8875
Safe maximum speed, like 30 MpH? since the loco has no speedometer?
Capable of pulling 7000 ton trains at drag speeds!

Was there no water glass on the backhead? Image
It should be the appliance with the three red handwheels, illuminated by this brown bottle like contraption? Of which there are three on the backhead, illuminating some dials for both engineer and fireman.

Rivet counting aside this product is right up there with Smokebox offerings as far as immersion in the sim. Bravo to the Machine Rail folks. !*brav*! Pictures to follow later.

I still prefer Darlan's work myself.

The only thing I have to add about this payware locomotive however is that it isn't too expensive, most cost even more then $14 dollars.

Darlan's work is really nice but I also am enjoying this thing quite a bit. It's leaps ahead of *most* of the American DLC that's been in circulation

More power to these guys. They're other stuff is pretty good too from what I've seen but I think like a lot of people here having a workhorse 2-8-0 is peaking a lot of interests.

I've seen that they offer some Freeware on their site, I jut hope that eventually they might also offer some kind of locomotive as Freeware. I find that the payware creator's that offer a little more Freeware is always a lot more fun, such as some of Great Northerner's work.

At a price of about $15.00 US, that is about as inexpensive as it gets for something of this quality. The boys from Brazil have done it again. Brazilian wax is recommended to keep it shiny and preserve all the delicate parts.
