It has been awhile since I have been on and updated all of you on our newest released item and our much anticipated GEVO-12 patch fix.

Well both are finally here and to start things off, my new EMD 710 sound-set is now available for purchase.

Here's a bit of info on what comes with this new mod:

This product includes sound files for EMD 710 engine block model. Include Isolated Cab variants and Non Isolated cab variants. As well included are 11 horn variants depending on the locomotive model and specs.

Product features are:
Prototypical horns for each railroad.
One horn sound will alternate to a "trackspeed" audio file when train is in motion.
Random external idle sounds so each unit in a multiple unit lashup will sound unique.
Random air compressor and random air sounds.
True-to-life engine sounds.
Alternate proxyxml variant of engine, cab isolation, and horns/bell sounds for any one class of locomotive.

Now for the GEVO-12 patch fix.

Everyone who has purchased the set to-date has been alerted by email with a download link to the patch fix.

This what it changes:

Fixes dynamic break sounds not fading in and out once they are activated or deactivated.
Fixes engine sound distance, now engine sounds fade in and out at a correct distance instead of them sounding infinitely on any route at any location.
Adds new far idle and run 8 sounds.

But if you did not get the email, I have setup a download link on my web-store so anyone future or past customer can have it at their disposal.

Just click the patch fix 1.01 download button, follow the installation instructions and you should be good to go.

Great job with the patches, does the TAS ES44 1.1 now alias the Kuju sounds instead of Stevens Pass? And on the requirements page for the 710 soundpack you forgot to mention FanRailer's SD80MAC physics. Are the UP Heritage SD70ACe and CSX Marketplace SD70MAC Simulation bins based on the respective FanRailer bin files?

The dynamic brake sound still seems to start abruptly rather than fade in.

I've got the same issue of the dynamic brakes as well. I also decided to pick up the 710 sounds before the Canadian dollar freefalls anymore. Good sounds but they are a bit quiet and I have no run8 sounds. The run 8 files included are silent.

When I was beta testing I remember hearing a run8 sound at 900rpm. You probably were using the SD75 in which its prime mover sounds won't play over 900rpm. It's sound does not play at 950rpm.

The RPM problem can be solved one of two ways:
Sound set made specifically for the 75s which rev to 950 RPM realistically.
Change the simulation blueprint to have a max RPM of 900.
Frankly, the RPM values don't matter in this game anyways since they aren't accurate or perform in a manner that is realistic (yet).

A few problems with the 710 pack.

Horn sound is the same inside and outside but the bell is quiter in the cab as it should be.

Throttle is missing notch click sounds (idle, notch 1, notch 7 and notch 8)

No air sounds in cab or outside cab when brakes applied or released.

Tested with BNSF SD70ACE

Any chance you could find the stuff to do a 567 pack?

The UP SD60M is DTG. And yes, it does apply. It won't, however, work with the eyein12 versions because of scripting, i believe.

Something wrong with SD60M. Background noise in the cab is so loud, twice louder than outside engine volume, and even prime mover/turbo whine barely audible because of this noise. Compared to SD70MAC, where cab sounds OK.

SD60M's in actuality, even the 3 window ones, are pretty quiet. The loudest EMDs are standard cab 60s, about the same as 40-2s, and 70ACes, regardless of isolated cab or not.

that's interesting... Phase II SD70ACe cab (square one) is the latest development, and it is louder inside than in Phase I ?

Correct. The worst part of them is the shoddy cab isolation which wears out and makes the cab bounce around when you hit frogs and other sections of bad track. I absolutely hate them. Quietest EMDs are the SD75Is or SD70MACs with the Whisper Cab.
