Posted: Thu Apr 10, 2014 7:22 pmIt certainly is a nice looking route, at least to the casual observer and there is an impressive "pre-release" 3 minute video over on the Farcebook page. There are the usual whiners - No free roam, catenary is wrong, colour is wrong Sunnyside & Penn are wrong etc, etc, but to me at least, it looks impressive.

If not "match" what is the term you use? I would have thought match a perfectly cromulent word to have used...

Posted: Fri Apr 11, 2014 6:37 amThe more I look at that ACS-64 the more I like the design... It looks quite German, unsurprisingly, and that's no bad thing. I certainly think it's a big advance in styling over the AEM-7

Retraction of my previous post below, the route is quite worth it, however you've to learn how the signalling system operates before you jump into the ACS-64 or HHP-8 our you'll become frustrated like me and make a silly rant on a forum.
To be quite honest, no. RSC has still not fixed the ATC/ACSES cab signalling systems. When you're approaching a speed restriction, the train will automatically switch the cab signal to that limit without even warning you, then give you a matter of 7 seconds to decelerate at times >40MPH or else you'll see a brake application, which is difficult to release until the train is almost at a dead stop. Not to mention that the ACS-64 is useless on the Northeast Corridor route from PHL-NYC because the cab signalling just malfunctions the entire trip.

What you are being critical of is largely how the "supression" system on MNCR works in reality, and you have 8 second to zero out your throttle, make the supression brake application, and acknowledge the alert. You do not have to have fully reduced your speed in those eight seconds; if you have taken the necessary steps toward doing so, a full brake application will not occur.
