Im about 95% complete here with this pack. I need to make the tanker cars still and tie up loose ends with some marginal z fighting.

Couple things with these units. They use a whole new key control for the headlight system G(shift+G) and J(shift+J) for front and back respectively; which works like the H and shift H control for on and off. The headlights are now separated into two unrelated functions, front and back, and can be controlled externally by button or from the cab with their respective switchess. the front has 2 settings a dim and bright and the back has 1 setting which is one and off. no longer uses an animation for the dimlight which is nice. there are steplights located on all 4 step zones and one more light located on the leftside walkway step. they can be controlled by the step light switch inside the cab as well as key control. the ammeter and gauges have been cleaned up to operate accurately and you can even move the gauge panel towards you to see it better from your position. Theres a desk light control and cablight as well as gaugelights for nighttime driving. all sunscreens work that service a purpose the other is for show.

Probably 2 weeks and I'll be confident on a release date in February sometime.

Are the B40-8W units you mentioned at the start of the thread going to part of this release, or a later project?

Very Nice. BNSF Just updated two of these units, Will you also being doing the B-Unit with these?

FYI BNSF 170 is wrong it has a regular cab on it

the 3rd unit has 2 road numbers that I added, 100 and 170. They changed the cab on 170 so i guess I ended up with an old pic or something. not sure how I how came to that conclusion. I deleted the 170 number so theres only 100 now.

170 was a B unit that they rebuilt into an A unit.

Don't these keys in game operate the manual trurnouts? How will this effect operation of the lights or turnouts?

oh I forgot they interacted with the switches. I'll use another key that isnt used. probably "Q" then. or maybe I'll just use "H" instead as to keep it the same.

a later project. with dovetail coming out with the b38-2w Im guessing the freight units arent too far behind either. So id rather just get these out since I know this hasnt been covered yet. With the new tanktrain tankcars coming in and 3 unit liveries covered it should be a nice pack anyway.

Using the "H" key would be good. The "Q" key is used for the Alerter. I'm just trying to help not be a whistle blower so to speak

I'll just do that, I'll use the H key. right now im doing the connected tank train tank cars and they are a handful. the majority of the tank car is completed now with all the detail work needed still. 80% complete. Not a guarantee I can get spine cars in with this pack.

Just a comment about headlights: the DB BR 261 German shunter DLC has controls I've never seen before on an engine. The 6-position keyboard and HUD controls set light combinations in the direction of travel; the lights can also be mouse-controlled by manipulating two rotary switches in the cab and there's a cab view position dedicated to the central panel where those switches are located.

I'm not suggesting that you implement this so late in your project, but thought you might find it interesting for future work.
