Yesterday, Devs at discord showed us new screenshot including editor.
A word of note - SDK will contain several editors, a track or roads are created in an external tool against the background of satellite images, while the environment is a plug-in for the editor built into the Unity engine. We can generate terrain (shape and paint), vegetation, roads, power lines, water reservoirs, rivers and buildings using geodetic data with a few clicks.

And another one announced: http://store.steampowered.com/app/1330660

The more the better, bring Dovetail some fierce competition so they need to improve.

Noone really interested in the USA market exclusively?

If I understand correctly then Third party US content should be practical or indeed Third party anywhere. Why not Google Earth (unless you have direct access to NASA).

That's not what I meant. I meant to say, a USA based developer/studio that knows about US railroading, not some bunch of Brits or Germans/Poles/Russians or whatever.

That Crosstie Studios initiative died a silent death when TSW proved that Unreal Engine isn't the best suited.

I am talking about Run8Studios, the only developer with the proper grasp on US railroad operations. But they are a very small studio, so progress towards Version 3 is very slow.

In all fairness to Searchlight and the other 3rd party Train Sim content developers, Run8 created their sim from scratch exclusively for US rail operations. Totally agree hands down it has the best simulation physics. But they didn't have to work around the short comings of a decade old sim that supports multiple continent railroad operations and equipment from multiple eras. What Searchlight and others have done with TS2021 US content is truly amazing.

Perhaps we'll get to see if we get to do the same for SimRail. Who knows at this point
