Well, that is about the main thing I don't really care about payware creators. Put it this way, my books are for sale, but I can't seem to get anyone to buy them so I could live off of my writing. I would also like to be able to get away from the day job and perhaps finally be able to get my own house. So like I said before, I will support Darlan more then anyone else. And that is also why any reference I might happen to collect will go to Darlan.

I do appreciate your work, in fact I did send a donation your way recently. These guys are relatively new, and like everyone else, are trying to survive. Making a few buck AND enjoying what you do is a rare occurrence in the world economy of today. There is room for all in this hobby. I always cringe when someone debates price for a dlc. It boils down to not what you can afford but what is it worth to the individual.

I can understand that, anyway though, the book is going to audiobook, so hopefully it will sell a lot more on Audible...That is after all the only way the narrator will be able to be paid anyways, so she will depend on the audiobook selling just as much as me.

Amazon will probably sell it for about $20 dollars, perhaps a little more. They have control over the price, so it's hard to tell at what they're put it up as.

And the fact that they charge you for both versions of the locomotive is as about as crooked as it gets, when in truth both versions should have been included in 1 pack. All they're really doing there is charging for a repaint, that's all. When I looked at the two different models they didn't look any bit different from one another.

It just so also happens that paid writing is extremely hard to get into based on my limited experience of anecdotes I've heard.

Charging for multiple versions of a locomotive is nothing new in Train Sim. Not saying it's right or wrong but in Trainz and Railworks I could go on with examples.

Every Searchlight Sims sd40-2 packs (not counting the bundles), DTM's sd45, gp30, and gp35 packs, Diesel Workshop's rs3 packs, DTG es44 and f-unit packs and many more.

Producing an absolutely marvelous product and wishing to be compensated for the work and effort (and at an exceptionally reasonable price) is the way of the world and they should be able to ask whatever they want and the buyer can decide if they want to purchase or not. A simple study of the screenshots of the two versions also reveals differences beyond "just a repaint." A shame such a beautiful release is apparently an excuse for more negativity.

A discount for owners of the Fireball version would be nice though ....

Perhaps somebody will backdate a CSX route to the WM era, late 40's, early 50's when these engines ran for real?
And DTM upgrade its retro pack to caboose with markers ...

Here is a small zip file with my altered cab view and head out view, plus a set of QuickDrive consists using the WM Retro pack hoppers and caboose that isn't carrying markers
[MR]WM_H9.zip

Cab view sequence is engineer's seat-engineer leaning out of the window-fireman leaning out of the window-fireman's seat-firedoor-backhead.
Head out view sequence is right front step-right side motion

The .zip file contains two folders that should be dropped in the 'Assets/MachineRail/1921 Baldwin H9 WM' folder and overwrite the present files, so best make a backup first.

I'll try to add a switchman's view to the tender's rear steps, which probably requires adding a camera blueprint to the tender's .bin file.

PS: still cannot get the package manager to work and create a .rwp package, it always crashes with a codepage error.

According to the Blueprint Editor and the sparse documentation on it, the Tender blueprint doesn't allow for either a cabin, interior or head out view?
https://sites.google.com/a/railsimdev.c ... nce-manual

Since a tender is essentially a wagon, does anybody know a wagon with a steps or ladder view?

When running LogMate on the engine, lots of errors pop up concerning .dav sound files missing. Seems the proxybin files need some checking and editing.

I think the passenger cars that come with Smokebox's FEF pack have ladder views. Also I think on the GN f7 empire builder pack too.

No tender can carry a camera unfortunately.

A third variation is in the works, a weathered Fireball, and there will be some updates to the previous releases.

I do not buy into this sales model of every variation a full price purchase. Perhaps some bundle or discount will be available later?

Here is another QD consists with 4 locomotives, 2 up front, a helper and a pusher.
Black WM x 2 + 60 50T hoppers LD + Helper + Pusher.zip

Getting from Hagerstown to Gettysburg is still a struggle ...

[quote="_o_OOOO_oo-Kanawha"]No tender can carry a camera unfortunately."

If the tender had a brakeman's Doghouse; couldn't one essentially copy the passengerview coding from an existing passenger car and plop it into the tender's bin file, and manually tweak it to be centralized in said brakeman's doghouse?

Just a thought...

This Western Maryland H9 is one impressive machine...!

I believe the tender blueprint scheme doesn't allow for a 'cabin', 'passenger' or 'head out' view.

AFAIK, a 'head out' view only allows two positions with limited view options.

I've tried adding a view, and it crashes the game on loading.
But if there is a tender with a dog house and working view in the game, please point me to it and I'll have a look at the .bin file.

An update is available: https://www.machine-rail.com/post/do-yo ... yland-h-9s

•Improved chuff sounds up to max. speed (40mp/h).
•Dynamic numbers are individual (you change manually in the loco and tender in the Editor)
•Head Out cameras readjusted in better position for driver and fireman.
•The steam air compressor can be operated through the valve in the cabin.
•Improved steam production and burn rate
•The names have been shortened for better viewing in Quick Drive mode and Editor.
•All keyboard shortcut animations have been smoothed, such as doors and windows.
•The WM H-9 "Original" does not turn on class lights. This is not a bug, it was made not to be lit.
