Manual is here: http://railsimulator.com/support-assets ... manual.pdf

Idk why it has the Leslie RS3K horn heard on the stream, it is inaccurate for DRGW. I am still looking foward to it.

Electro-Motive Division’s powerful SD50 is now available for Train Simulator from Digital Train Model.

Any first buyer reviews?

I am still left with some questions after the Twitch preview of the pre-release:
Does it have advanced braking?
Are the traction motors mounted right?
Winter textures/snow effects present?

After only a quick run I can answer your three questions:

1. Does not feature advanced braking. Minimum Reduction is at 30%.

2. Traction motors are present. On the rear truck they all face the wrong direction.

3. No snow effects that I've seen yet. I only did a brief Quickdrive to investigate this. Not sure what triggers it but Winter and Cloudy Snow should have caused the snow effects if there were any.

The model seems to sit slightly lower to the ground compared to the SD40T-2. The orange could be brightened up, the textures seem dark beside the default SD40T-2. This was a pretty new locomotive in the pre-ditchlight era. Other than the reversed traction motors on the rear truck, the model is very good. The warning light is nice, maybe a bit large but much closer to scale than the tiny thing on the SD40T-2. In the exterior views it really looks great. Overall a pretty good unit with a few flaws. Hopefully DTM will be able to correct the traction motors on the rear truck.

Thanks for picking this up.
It would be nice for all of your and Martins locomotives to have the same advanced features.

Do keep us updated please.

Yes, advanced brakes used on the DRGW SD40T-2 are good for this and all upcoming DTM releases! Will the Sharknose be updated with that feature?

I noticed the horn is inaccurate for DRGW, they do not use RS3K as heard on your video. I think the horn best for it is the P3 used in the Oovee SD40 sound pack.

If you haven't realized yet, dtm doesn't own oovee's sounds and therefore can't use them. If you want to use that horn do it yourself, it's quite easy to change a horn.

For the record, it's Anthony Wood's sound pack published by Oovee, and he helped them with the sounds. If he gives his permission for them to use it they can.

Glad to know that the advanced brakes and snow effects of the SD40T-2 will be implemented along with the accurate horn! Will definitely buy it during a sale.

I know Wood's SD40-2 soundpack is sold on Oovee and is by Anthony Wood. What I was mentioning was that the Nathan P3 horn included with the pack can be used. I read on a forum that most DRGW SD50s used M5s (Like the DTM DDA40X) or RS3Ls (like the Sherman Hill SD40-2 with soundpack). It did mention they may have been Chessie-spec, but I don't think DRGW would use K5LAs on their SD50s.

Very nice unit! DTM did a really nice job with the cab. I have noticed that it seems to be pretty hard on the frame rates compared to other locomotives.

I haven't bought it, but that's either a really good sign that DTM put in a lot of detail effort, or it just means the lighting is overdone; kinda like the DDA40X. The lights were wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too powerful. Ate up like 10-15 FPS on my system... *!rolleyes!*

Another thing I noticed is that the platform lights bring my FPS from 50 down to 15 in some cases (not exaggerating!). Not sure why this happens considering the platform lights aren't even that bright.
