=====================================================================================
This package delivers patches for the locos of VNHRR/HiLine Shelby-Havre with the soundpacks by MLW/SearchlightSimulations,
alternative sounds for the wagons by Krellnuts (obligatory),
a view from the platform of the caboose (obligatory) and
a cabcam for the SW1500 (obligatory).
Installation
############
First unpack the file HiLine-soundpatches.zip, you will get 4 folders beginning with "HiL_".
If you like to install one of the patches for the
- wagons : copy the contents of the folder HiL_Krellnuts_Sounds\ to Railworks\Assets\
- cabcam for the SW1500 copy the contents of the folder HiL_SW1500_Cabcam\ to Railworks\Assets\
- platformview of the caboose copy the contents of the folder HiL_Caboose_Platformview\ to Railworks\Assets\
To have Krellnuts sound in the caboose please change all lines in
Assets\WJ Sound\Wagons\Audio\Wagon Freight.proxyxml with :

- Now the main task :
Installation of the MLW-sounds
##############################
Background: MLW-patched locos do not show nice sounds with locos as AI-traffic (completely silent, only bogies or just idling).
I wasn't satisfied with it. So I left the standard sound for the AI locos, equipped them with the lights from MLW
and created extra locos for the player with the patches from MLW. There are changed consists for the Quickdrive.
To play previous scenarios you should exchange the player locomotive with the MLW version in a copy of the scenario.
A test scenario "Meeting at pacific junction ..." is included in different variations.
1. To install MLW-patches with separate versions for the player and AI go to HiL_MLW-patches\
and install with RailWorks\Utilities.exe the file
- 1a_MLW+AI_ES44DC+GP38-2.rwp
if you have both the "GEVO-12 - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" for the ES44DC and the "EMD 16-645E - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" for the GP38-2
by SearchlightSimulation.
- 1b_MLW+AI_ES44DC.rwp
if you have only the "GEVO-12 - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" for the ES44DC
by SearchlightSimulation.
- 1c_MLW+AI_GP38-2.rwp
if you have only the "EMD 16-645E - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" for the GP38-2
by SearchlightSimulation.
2. If you don't want to go this way, you have the possibility to patch the locomotives with MLW-sound as usual:
To install normal MLW-patches go to HiL_MLW-patches\
and install with RailWorks\Utilities.exe the file
- 2a_MLW-patch_ES44DC+GP38-2.rwp
if you have both the "GEVO-12 - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" for the ES44DC and the "EMD 16-645E - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" for the GP38-2
by SearchlightSimulation.
- 2b_MLW-patch_ES44DC.rwp
if you have only the "GEVO-12 - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" for the ES44DC
by SearchlightSimulation.
- 2c_MLW-patch_GP38-2.rwp
if you have only the "EMD 16-645E - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" for the GP38-2
by SearchlightSimulation.
Remarks
##########
To change the player's loco to the MLW-version use the locos with (MLW) in it's name,
the blueprints are named _MLW.bin (execept the MP_ES44DC_BNSF_nd_DP.bin, which is MLW-specific).
My patches for the ES44DC include an alerter audible in the outside.
If you don't like it go to Assets\MLWAudio\GE-GEVO-12\GEVO-12\
and delete GE_GEVO_Proto.proxyxml, GE_GEVO_Proto_AC.proxyxml and GE_GEVO_DP.proxyxml
and remove the string "-ori" from all files with "-ori.proxyxml" in it's filename.
There are some remarks noticed in some files "Readme.txt" or "info.txt" next to the relevant folders
(e.g. InputMappers). If you don't need them, remove them.
I would like to thank SearchlightSimulations very much for the permission to provide these patches.
Have fun
