INSTALLATION.
=============

If you have a previous beta version of this route, I would suggest removing it before installing this version.
To remove the previous beta, start RailWorks and from the main menu select Editor. On the next screen highlight
the Montour Railroad in the "Select A Route" window pane, then click on the Delete Route option in the right window pane.
Next uncompress the MTR_PB3.zip file in a temp folder. Next start Train Simulator 2012 Rail Works 3, select the Package Manager Tab.
Press the refresh button. Once the screen has refreshed, navigate to the temp folder were the MTR_PB3.rwp and allow the Package Manager to
install the route into Rail Works 3.

ALTERNATE INSTALLATION.
=======================

If the Package Manager fails to install the package into Rail Works, rename the MTR_V1.rwp file to MTR_V1.rar and use WinRAR to uncompress
the packaged file. At this point you will have to manually copy the route into your RailWorks Content folder.

ROUTE ASSETS.
=============

Included with the route zip file are the freeware assets used by the route and they have been compressed using WinZip. You can either
uncompress and copy all of the assets to your Rail Works Assets folder or using RW_Tools, check for missing assets and only copy the
ones you are missing to your Rail Works Assets folder.

ROUTE INFORMATION.
==================

The Montour Railroad was originally built and owned by the Pittsburgh Coal Company until its merger with the Consolidated Coal Company in 1945.
At that time the new Pittsburgh Consolidated Coal company decided to concentrate solely on the coal mining industry.
On December 31, 1946 the Montour railroad was sold jointly to the Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroads.

The Montour Railroad makes a large semi-circle to the South and West of Pittsburgh, PA. The road begins at Groveton, PA. This is the location of the Montour Railroads
main shops and yard.  From there the road runs east through small communities like Imperial, McDonald, Southview, Hills and McMurray with its mainline ending at Salida, PA. From that point the Montour continues east on trackage rights over the former P&WV’s Mifflin branch to Mifflin Jct and its connection with the Union Railroad owned by United States Steel.

The Montour has three branch lines that serve mines not located on the mainline.
The three branches are: The Westland secondary track, the Muse secondary track and the Library secondary track.

During the time frame of the route, the Montour serves 4 deep mines and two strip mines. Montour #10 is located at Library, PA. Montour #4 is located at Hills Station, PA. Westland #1 and #2 are located at Westland, PA. On the Montour coal loaded at these mines is known as green coal, because it is not sized or washed. The green coal is transported to the Champion prep plant located railroad west of McDonald, PA. Once the coal has been sized and cleaned at the prep plant, it is then loaded in open hoppers
and transported to CONSOL’s customers throughout the United States.

During the time frame of the route, the Montour maintains six active interchanges with foreign roads. These are: the Union Railroad at Mifflin Jct. The B&O Railroad at Snowden, PA. The Pennsy / Penn Central at Hills Station and McDonald, PA the N&W former P&WV railroad at Southview, PA and finally the P&LE railroad at Groveton, PA.

CHANGES IN V 1.1
============
The car yard tail track was changed at Groveton, it never connected to the East wye track. The Groveton yard tracks have been renamed, with their correct names. The missing industrial siding was added at Groveton. The siding at McAdams was extended as the local industry never had it's own siding, but instead used the East end of the McAdams passing siding. There are a few other locations where the location names have been corrected.

At this point, this is as close as I can get to what once existed and I do not plan on making any further updates to the Montour route. Enjoy the route guys and sorry if the updates have broken the scenarios created for version 1.0.

A special thank you goes out to Michael Stephan for creating many of the Montour specific scenery object used in the route. Without Michael's help and assistance and objects the prep plant at Champion would not have been possible. Michael also has some very nice looking Montour hoppers available on his web site.
