When Amtrak was formed on May 1, 1971, they recieved a large amount of hand-me-down rolling stock from their host railroads. Although many of the passenger cars would be retired with the arrival of the Amfleets and Superliners, no new order was placed for baggage cars.

Following the Heritage Fleet refurbishment program of the late 1970s and early 1980s, the 1955 baggage cars that the Santa Fe had ordered from Budd for passenger service served as the main type of baggage car that Amtrak operated, being supplemented in the 1990s by a number rebuilt from coaches.

These baggage cars would soldier on until 2016, when they were replaced nationwide with the new Viewliner II baggage cars built by CAF.

This pack provides the ex-ATSF baggage cars in all of the liveries they wore after their refurbishment and installation of HEP cabling, covering Phase III to Phase IVb.

Requirements:

Installation:
1. Either install the .rwp included in this download with Utilities.exe, or open the .rwp with the program of your choice and drag the "Assets" folder into your main RailWorks folder.
2. Navigate to Steam/steamapps/common/RailWorks/Assets/DTG/AmtrakE8Pack01/RailVehicles/Passenger/HeritageBaggage
3. Copy "BaggageHeritagePhase2.GeoPcDx"
4. Paste this file in .../Assets/DTG/AmtrakE8Pack01/RailVehicles/PassengerPhaseIII/HeritageBaggage
5. Repeat this process for .../PassengerPhaseIV/HeritageBaggage, .../PassengerPhaseIV/HeritageBaggageBlackRoof, .../PassengerPhaseV/HeritageBaggage, and ...PassengerPhaseV/HeritageBaggageBlackRoof
6. That should be it. Tick the DTG/AmtrakE8Pack01 provider box in the scenario editor to use these in a custom scenario; they will then appear as "[E8] Heritage Baggage..."
