Two Conrail (Regular) 1622 & 1663 GP15s, a Conrail (Quality) 1649 GP15 and a Conrail (Operation Lifesaver) 1637 GP15 repainted GP15s by tagsdm
Included are four repaints of David Brindley's excellent GP15 into two Conrail (Regular) 1622 & 1663 GP15s, a Conrail (Quality) 1649 GP15 and a Conrail (Operation Lifesaver) 1637 GP15. Three of the four have the ditchlight mod built by MadMike1024 and PapaXpress as per the NS repaints previously uploaded by yours truly. 1622 does not have ditchlights because I started this project before I knew how add them, and because I've seen CR engines with and without ditchlights.
These are four individual, single number 1622, 1663, 1649 and 1637 models. Autonumbering is not used. The locomotive numbers are painted on the cab sides. This is because the original MP number board is in a position that is incorrect for Conrail. It is exact for MP, though. As before, David's model is MP specific and therefore a few MP details are on the GP15s, and one or two texture adjustments had to be made. I hope that's OK.These repaints use a low-res texture fix suggested by Nitsujy12345.
You will need the original GP15 model by David Brindley installed in order for these repaints to work. It is free and can be found at this site as "Missouri Pacific (MP) EMD GP15 - New Model".
Installation
First, extract the CRGP15Pack.rwp to a convenient location for you like your desktop.
Install CRGP15Pack.rwp using the Package Manager utility located in your Railworks main folder.
After installing you should have four folders in ...Assets\DRB_SimStuff\NA\RailVehicles\Diesel\
GP-15-CR1622
GP-15-CR1663xUP
GP-15-CROLSxUP
GP-15-CRQUALxUP
Because the model is freeware, and we've been given permission to upload for (free) repaints, no file copying is necessary. Please see the origREADME_GP15 and UPY-588 README files for more information.
To use in a scenario, be sure DRB_SimStuff then NA are checked in the Editor. In the left locomotive flyout you should find the twelve entries...
GP15-CR1622_exp
GP15-CR1622_simp
GP15-CR1622_trail
GP15-CR1663xUP_exp_MT
GP15-CR1663xUP_ND_MT
GP15-CR1663xUP_simp_MT
GP15-CROLSxUP_exp_MT
GP15-CROLSxUP_ND_MT
GP15-CROLSxUP_simp_MT
GP15-CRQUALxUP_exp_MT
GP15-CRQUALxUP_ND_MT
GP15-CRQUALxUP_simp_MT
The xUP models have ditchlights. exp is the expert driving controls, simp is the simplified controls, and ND (or trail) is the no driver trailing unit. Drop one on the rails, place a driver (except the ND and trail units) and you're good to go. Use the ND or trail units in the middle or end of a lashup, or as a scenery item. Please read the origREADME_GP15 for details on the controls of each engine. The exp version can be quite a challenge.
All credit for the GP15 model and original textures goes to David Brindley and those who assisted him. All credit for the ditch lights and their textures goes to MadMike1024 and PapaXpress. I did only the Conrail repaints and modifying the *.bin files to include the ditch lights. Please see the origREADME_GP15 and UPY-588 README files for more information. Please do not redistribute any files contained herein.
And a thank you to Mike Simpson for RW_Tools, without which this project would have been a lot more difficult, if not impossible.
Neither I nor the original builders of the model(s) will accept any responsibility for any damage, real or imagined, to your system by using these files. There shouldn't be any, though. Hope you enjoy!
