Cannot finish Ridin the Chief

Unread postby guccimayne » Sun Sep 04, 2011 7:05 pm

Hello, I just downloaded RW2 and I purchased the p42 addon pack to go with it. However, I cannot finish this run because ~5 miles before Victorville, I get an error message saying "AI Driver BNSF ... Has Left The Path". This has happened twice and I am very annoyed since I spent a good amount of time trying to complete this, just to have the ai glitch out and derail.

Is there a fix or a workaround for this?

Thanks

I also got that problem a few times. I have uploaded a V2 version to the "Free Stuff" page on my website. Downlaod and install it and give it a try. This is V2 and will not overwrite the original.

I hope this helps you.

This is a ".rwp" file. Many third-party Railworks downloads come in this form.

You need to start Railworks. The Railworks launcher will open, here you'll find the tab "Package Manager". Click install and browse the previously downloaded and saved ".rwp" file you want to install.

After the installation, go to the "Tools&Docs" tab and press "clear blueprint cache".

Now you can start the game and the installed asset/loco/route/scenario will be available in the game.

An official fix for the Ridin't eh Chief scenario will also be available soon.

Thanks I got it to work. I have another question. In the Winter Troubleland mission, my first task is to go via Hodge Track 2. I did that and I even got the little message that pops up. However, in the task list, I never get a complete notification even though I clearly went on Hodge track 2 (as there is no way to avoid it). I eventually got to the end of the line, but I can never get a successful mark and I am guessing it is because the game thinks I missed Hodge 2. I made the time restraint both times so I thought I was doing everything right, but I see that I am not. What are the requirements to get a successful mark for this route?

this problem stems from an issue with just one ai train bnsf #8340 refrigerated its blocking the platform at victorville and avoiding the train is impossible as it not only blocks the platform but also locks the crossover switches so its in a collision path with amtrak #4 i have emailed gtrax and notified them of this problem as it not only affects the amtrak train but also an intermodal freight that can not proceed out of its block due to the amtrak and the other freight blocking the tracks once you get close to victorville. 8340 also has no path for it to properly continue to summit portal. i tried to get it to go via frost high track but it failed to do so. untill gtrax fixes that scenario im just gonna not play it. i have already emailed them identifying the exact train causing the issue and where it was at.

I just downloaded the amtrak commuter package the other day and played this scenario but ended up in a head on collision about 1 mile from the Victorville Station.

I had red signal at the crossover ~1 before you get to the station with a UP refrigeration heading for me. I thought it was going to take the crossover to the other track but it didn't and ended up running into me.

Has this scenario been updated at all since September? I was hoping to actually make a station stop after 30mins of driving. *!sad!*

Wow! Railworks is truly a joke! I just bought this and ran into a refrigerator car outside of Victorville. WTF! This should be fixed by now! It's one bug after another in this software, pay lots of money and download routes only to have them not work correctly. I've given up and left it sit for awhile. Sorry for the rant, but put out a product that works! Trouble is this is the best game out there for rail fans so I guess I will have to suck it up.
